XICO

Ópera electroacústica y radiofónica en donde se reúnen el dios Tezcatlipoca, el líder tlaxcalteca Xicoténcatl Axayacatzin y tres amigos de la contemporánea ciudad de México. Nos presenta reflexión acerca de cómo nos valoramos como mexicanos y el valor de nuestros orígenes.

PROTAGONISTAS

Pablo Cesar Reyes Ramírez – Barítono

Ha participado en diversos proyectos musicales como la Traviata, Carmen, Luisa Fernanda, Gloria de Vivaldi, etc.. Como solista se ha presentado con la Misa de Coronación (1997, 2006, 2009), “La verbena de la paloma” con el papel de “Don Sebastián” (2010), La tabernera del puerto con el papel de “Walter Simpson” (2011), en la opera de “Bastián y Bastiana” con el papel de “Colás” (2011), en “La mulata de córdoba” con el papel del “Gran Inquisidor” (2012), en “El elixir de amor” con el papel de “Dulcamara” (2013), en “El niño y los sortilegios” con los papeles de “El reloj, el gato, el árbol y el sillón” (2014), en el proyecto de música de capilla y profana de los siglos XVI al XIX “Seis maestros de capilla de la catedral de Morelia como “El Cronista” (2015-2016), en la Ópera de “La Flauta Mágica” con el papel de “Papageno” (2016), Carmina Burana (2016), el Réquiem de Mozart (2008, 2011, 2017), en la Ópera de “La Flauta Mágica” con el papel del “Orador” (2017) y en el musical “Jesucristo súper estrella” con el papel de “Caifás” (2008, 2011, 2019). En la Actualidad preparando arias de la opera de “Mefistófeles”.

ALEJANDRA ZAVALA – SOPRANO

Originaria de la Ciudad de México. En 1990 comienza sus estudios de piano. En 1993 ingresa al Coro de la Secretaría de Cultura, cantando como solista en diversas participaciones. En 1994 comienza sus estudios en el Conservatorio de las Rosas, en la especialidad de canto, con la mezzosoprano Guadalupe Góngora Romero. En 1996 continúa su formación vocal con el barítono Hugo Barreiro Lastra, y forma parte del Taller de Ópera del Conservatorio de las Rosas, participando en óperas como “La Traviata” de Giusseppe Verdi interpretando a Annina, “Dido y Aeneas” de Henry Purcell como la Primera Bruja, La Serva Padrona de Giovanni Battista Pergolesi en el papel de Serpina, “Orfeo y Euridice” como Amor, y en el estreno en México de la ópera “El Rey Cuervo” de Mervin Burtch como Pisea. Con este mismo taller ha cantado en foros como la Sala Netzahualcóyotl de la Ciudad de México. Ha cantado como solista con la Orquesta de Cámara de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, con la Orquesta de Cámara de Música Antigua del Conservatorio de las Rosas y con el Ensamble de Música Barroca “Continuo”. Su repertorio abarca obras barrocas de Europa y México, música renacentista, del nacionalismo mexicano, y composiciones de nuestra época. Desde 1999 es integrante del Octeto Vocal de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. Además de su formación musical, estudió la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación. Ha dedicado gran parte de su trabajo a la docencia en instituciones de nivel bachillerato y de forma particular, con clases de vocalización, historia de la música y entrenamiento auditivo.

MARÍA REGINA GARCÍA ZAVALA

Inició sus estudios musicales desde niña bajo la tutela del Pbro. Nicolás Mendoza R. A los 6 años ingresa al Coro de la primaria “Soledad Gutiérrez de Figaredo” bajo la dirección del Maestro Hernán Cortés Carrillo, quien fuera director de los “Niños Cantores de Morelia “. Realizó sus estudios musicales en el Instituto Superior de Música Sacra, teniendo como maestros de canto al tenor Emilio Medina González y al barítono Ricardo Santín. Ha tomado clases magistrales con la Mezzosoprano Ana Caridad Acosta, el barítono Salvador Godofredo Guízar y el contratenor Héctor Sosa. Fue integrante del Coro de Cámara del Instituto Superior de Música Sacra de Morelia. Ha participado como solista con la Orquesta de Cámara de la UMSNH, interpretando el Stabat Mater de G. B. Pergolesi, Magnificat de Antonio Vivaldi, entre otras obras. Ha formado parte de diversos ensambles de música de cámara, por lo que cuenta con un amplio repertorio que abarca música medieval, barroca, española, arias de ópera, música sacra y música mexicana, cantando obras como Stabat Mater de Antonio Vivaldi. Actualmente forma parte del Dueto Monte Verdi. Se ha presentado en diferentes auditorios de la República Mexicana.

ALBERTO SÁNCHEZ – TENOR

Originario de la Ciudad de México y desde muy niño, tuvo contacto con la música y coros infantiles, ya que formó parte de los niños cantores de la Escuela Nacional de Música (Hoy SCOLA CANTORUM DE MEXICO) dirigidos por el Mtro. Alfredo Mendoza, ahí mismo, estudio solfeo con el Mtro.Cruz Rojas en la misma institución y posteriormente por motivos familiares, en el año 1986, se mudó a Morelia en donde continuo su formación coral en el coro de los Niños Cantores de Morelia, bajo la batuta del Mtro. Sergio Nava.A la edad de 20 años, comenzó a tomar clases de canto en la casa de la cultura de Morelia con la Mtra. Ma. Guadalupe Góngora y con el Mtro. Alfredo Zamora y Valencia, participando en algunos conciertos en Morelia y el estado de Michoacán e iniciando su carrera como solista en las presentaciones de los talleres de esa misma institución en los años 1994 a 1996, acompañado de la Orquesta Juvenil “Silvestre Revueltas” dirigida por su fundador, Mtro. Alfredo Zamora. En su repertorio, se incluyen obras como Arias, Zarzuela, Canción Mexicana, Canción Italiana y Napolitanas, Boleros y diferentes obras del género sacro, que incluyen Réquiem y Misas Brevis. Actualmente sigue preparándose con clases de canto y repertorio, con los Maestros Octavio Arévalo, Mtra. Claudia Hernández, y la Mtra. Ivonne Pino, entre otros. Con el cuarteto de voces masculinas “Canto Firme”, ha sido integrante activo solista y con el que da conciertos y recitales en Morelia, en el Estado de Michoacán y en diferentes estados del país. En el año 2019, participo, tanto con el cuarteto de cuerdas “Ad Libitum” y con el “Ensamble Amadeus”, como solista en diferentes eventos y festivales Artísticos tanto en la ciudad de Morelia como en el estado de Michoacán y Guanajuato.

MARCOS MEJÍA GALVÁN – BAJO

Músico profesional con una formación como director coral, ha volcado sus conocimientos en un amplio terreno musical. Ofreciendo soluciones integrales y personalizadas a todo tipo de alumnos. Presta especial atención a cada aspecto que confluye en la personalidad de los oyentes y con el público en general para extraer el máximo beneficio con ellos. Amplias habilidades en la gestión de eventos culturales y adecuada administración del tiempo. Mi principal habilidad es la organización de eventos musicales.

MARGARITA RAMÍREZ TALAVERA – NARRACIÓN

Nació en Uruapan, Michoacán, el 26 de diciembre de 1988. Egresada de la Licenciatura en Música en el áreadeComposición por el Conservatorio de las Rosas en Morelia, Michoacán, bajo la tutela del Mtro. Horacio Uribe Duarte. Actualmente también cuenta con el grado de Maestría en Música como Arte Interdisciplinario otorgado por la Universidad de Barcelona, España, el cual obtuvo tras ser seleccionada como beneficiaria del Programa para Estudios en el Extranjero FONCA-CONACYT. Como parte de su formación extracurricular en 2014 obtuvo su certificación en la metodología musical de Rítmica y Movimiento “Dalcroze”, avalada por el instituto Jaques Dalcroze en Ginebra, Suiza. En cuanto a su formación como narradora oral, tomó el taller de “Narración oral” impartido por Numancia Rojas en la Casa de los Cuentos, Barcelona, España. Dicha formación le permitió presentarse como narradora independiente en distintas locaciones, entre ellas el Centro Cultural La Parota, tanto con breves intervenciones como con sesiones completas (60 de minutos) de cuentos para público infantil y para público adulto. Dicha experiencia le valióformar parte de “Tresillas, contando músicas”, agrupación que sigue vigente hasta la fecha.Actualmente se encuentra enfocada en la docencia musical infantil en varias escuelas, principalmente en Mozarteum, con sede en la ciudad de Morelia.

SABINE BÜRGER

Estudió Artes Visuales en la Academia de Arte de Düsseldorf. Desde 2007 se ha centrado principalmente en el video, explorando la interfaz entre el video y el sonido. Ha trabajado con diferentes músicos en diversos proyectos resultando en colaboraciones con Heiner Göbbels (D), William Basinski (US), Machinefabriek (NL), Steve Roden (US) y Svarte Greiner (N), entre otros. Great Expectations, su video y retrato fotográfico del Wisbech & Fenland Museum / UK ha sido presentado en CHAT2017, una conferencia organizada por la Universidad de Amsterdam (2017), así como en Art, Materiality and Representation, una conferencia en el Museo Británico. y SOAS University of London (2018). La instalación Neander’s Hollow, una colaboración con el músico holandés Chis Bakker, se exhibió en el Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf en otoño de 2018. Las colaboraciones audiovisuales anteriores con Rosalía Soria Luz incluyen The Silver Key, presentada en el Festival Internacional ISSTA y la Conferencia sobre Sonido en las Artes y las Ciencias. and Technology, Dundalk Institute of Technology, Irlanda del Norte (2017), y Synthetic Springs, estrenado en el Simposio Internacional de Sonido klingt gut, organizado por la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas en Hamburgo (2018).

ALEJANDRA ZAVALA – SOPRANO

Form Mexico City. In 1990 she began his piano studies. In 1993 she joined the Choir of the Ministry of Culture, singing as a soloist in various participations. In 1994 she began his studies at the Conservatorio de las Rosas, specializing in singing, with the mezzo-soprano Guadalupe Góngora Romero. In 1996 she continued his vocal training with the baritone Hugo Barreiro Lastra, and was part of the Opera Workshop of the Conservatory of Roses, participating in operas such as “La Traviata” by Giusseppe Verdi playing Annina, “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell as the First Witch, La Serva Padrona by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi in the role of Serpina, “Orfeo y Euridice” as Amor, and in the Mexican premiere of the opera “El Rey Cuervo” by Mervin Burtch as Pisea. With this same workshop she has sung in forums such as the Sala Netzahualcóyotl in Mexico City. She has sung as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Michoacan University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo, with the Chamber Orchestra of Early Music of the Conservatorio de las Rosas and with the “Continuo” Baroque Music Ensemble. Her repertoire includes Baroque works from Europe and Mexico, Renaissance music, Mexican nationalism, and compositions from our time. Since 1999 he has been a member of the Vocal Octet of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. In addition to his musical training, she studied the Bachelor of Communication Sciences. She has dedicated a large part of her work to teaching in high school level institutions and in a particular way, with classes in vocalization, music history and listening training.

MARÍA REGINA GARCÍA ZAVALA – MEZZO-SOPRANO

She began her musical studies as a child under the tutelage of Fr. Nicolás Mendoza R. At the age of 6 he joined the “Soledad Gutiérrez de Figaredo” Primary Choir under the direction of Maestro Hernán Cortés Carrillo, who was the director of the “Niños Cantores de Morelia”. She did his musical studies at the Higher Institute of Sacred Music, having as singing teachers the tenor Emilio Medina González and the baritone Ricardo Santín. She has taken master classes with the mezzo-soprano Ana Caridad Acosta, the baritone Salvador Godofredo Guízar and the countertenor Héctor Sosa. ALBERTO SÁNCHEZ – TENOR

Born in Mexico City. From a very young age he had contact with music and children’s choirs, since he was part of the singing children of the National School of Music (Today SCOLA CANTORUM DE MEXICO) directed by Mtro. Alfredo Mendoza, right there, studied music theory with Mr. Cruz Rojas in the same institution and later for family reasons, in 1986, he moved to Morelia where he continued his choral training in the Choir of the “Niños Cantores de Morelia”, under the baton of Mtro. Sergio Nava. At the age of 20, he began taking singing classes at the house of culture in Morelia with Mtra. Ma. Guadalupe Góngora and with Mtro. Alfredo Zamora and Valencia, participating in some concerts in Morelia and the state of Michoacán and starting his career as a soloist in the presentations of the workshops of that same institution in the years 1994 to 1996, accompanied by the “Silvestre Revueltas” Youth Orchestra directed by its founder, Mtro. Alfredo Zamora. His repertoire includes works such as Arias, Zarzuela, Canción Mexicana, Canción Italiana and Napolitanas, Boleros and different works of the sacred genre, including Requiem and Brevis Masses. MARGARITA RAMÍREZ TALAVERA – NARRATOR

SABINE BÜRGER

Sabine Bürger studied Visual Art at Düsseldorf Art Academy. Since 2007 she has been focusing mainly on video, exploring the interface between video and sound. She has worked with different musicians on various projects resulting in collaborations with Heiner Göbbels (D), William Basinski (US), Machinefabriek (NL), Steve Roden (US), and Svarte Greiner (N), amongst others. Great Expectations, her video and photographic portrait of the Wisbech & Fenland Museum/UK has been presented at CHAT2017, a conference organized by the University of Amsterdam (2017), as well as at Art, Materiality and Representation, a conference at the British Museum and SOAS University of London (2018). The installation Neander’s Hollow, a collaboration with Dutch musician Chis Bakker, was exhibited at Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf in autumn 2018. Previous audio-visual collaborations with Rosalía Soria Luz include The Silver Key, presented at ISSTA International Festival and Conference on Sound in the Arts, Science and Technology, Dundalk Institute of Technology, Northern Ireland (2017), and Synthetic Springs, premiered at the klingt gut International Symposium on Sound, organized by the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg (2018).
